Job description
TD AMERITRADE is looking for a Business Data Analyst to work within the Retail Brokerage Group at its Omaha, Nebraska location. TD AMERITRADE is seeking a motivated highly analytical individual with experience in data retrieval, knowledge of relational databases and the ability to support product managers with analysis to make business decisions. This candidate will work closely with business leaders, analysts and product managers in all phases of product analysis, business intelligence, reporting and forecasting.
Position Summary:
' Provide analytical and business decision support to product managers within TD AMERITRADE's Retail Brokerage Group
' Support Sr. Manager of Business Planning and Analytics in the development of proactive analysis, client segmentation, and reporting solutions
' Provide data management, data analysis and technical report generation support to the business group to help assess business performance, forecasting, product performance and development
' Primary focus will be related to firm wide trading related business lines (Equities Options, & Futures) and its Education program
Responsibilities:
' Proactive analysis to assist product mangers on business decisions
' Evaluation of product areas in order to identify profitability, performance, business trends, and areas of potential development
' Provide reporting and performance tracking in support of TD AMERITRADE's education programs, as well assist in initial development of the programs' reporting processes
' Assist in design and implementation of trade based segmentation analysis methodologies
' Responsible for data extraction, data compilation, data analysis, and data reporting
' Manage, update and manipulate all reporting structures using MS SQL, MS Excel, Hyperion Essbase and Business Objects
' Manipulate data using Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
' Provide analysis on client base
' Document process flows, identify and analyze data from different sources to create holistic reports
' Work together with team to identify and develop new reporting requirements
' Provide ad hoc reports as needed
' Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
Skills:
Required
' Past experience in analyzing and summarizing data for business decision support
' Must be comfortable accessing relational databases using PLSQL / TSQL or other front end database querying tools and working with and interpreting large amounts of data
' Strong communications skills in order to work closely with product managers, finance and senior management
' Must be proficient in MS Excel including V-lookups and pivot tables
' Strong background and knowledge working with relational databases
' 4 year degree required (preferably in Business, Finance or Statistics)
' 1-4 year experience in a related field/industry preferably in brokerage or financial service products
Desired
' Knowledge of financial markets and financial products such as Equities, Options and Futures
' PowerPoint presentation skills
' Familiarity with Business Objects
' Knowledge of SQL front end tools like MS Access, Brio, SAS, TOAD, etc.
