Overview:
We are looking for a Retail Market Manager to manage our Culver City store with market sales estimated to be in excess of $50 million and a team of 50+ staff members. The individual in this role will lead us through our store opening and will be responsible for developing a team of non-commissioned sales/design professionals. It's critical they understand their customer and the world around them to cultivate our culture, and take full accountability to build their business.
Given the scope and volume of this role, we are looking for individuals with a minimum of 5 years multi-unit retail experience. The ideal candidate will be gifted at leading others, passionate about retail, astute merchants and take full accountability for their success in a highly collaborative environment.
Our Retail Market Managers exemplify a deep understanding of their business and take complete responsibility for the financial success of their market. They lead the planning process; their results are not dictated to them from a corporate office. They are keen merchants and leverage Room & Board's assortment to meet the needs of their customer.
All Room & Board leaders have a passion for mid century/modernism design. They love the fast pace of a retail and believe in creating an extraordinary experience for our customer. They enjoy managing a diverse team of sales/design professionals in a non-commissioned environment where they lead less with rules and rely more on principals. They build meaningful relationships with others and believe that collaboration is more important than competition. They are self -aware and genuine.
